This doesn't address the issue of simplicity of use.  Your steps to put
something into CVS is extremely complicated if conflict markers exist.  Either
you don't care about this fact, or you're ignoring it.

Also, money doesn't buy you guarantees in the commercial world.

You're even more obtuse than I can be!

Why don't you go find some other tool to rip to shreds?  Hopefully it's
a commercial one too so that you can pay for the privilege (and be
guaranteed some results!  ;-).
