problems connecting to pserver

I have a problem connecting to cvs.

We are running a client/server configuration with cvs running on a free bsd maching. The clients are all windows machines running wincvs 1.11. Most everyone can connect to the server, but a few can't. I myself can connect with my account on one of my machines, but I can't connect with the other machine that I use. Here is a copy of the log when I try to check out, then login.

CVSROOT: :pserver:address@hidden:/usr/local/cvsroot (password authentication)

TCL is available, shell is enabled : help (select and press enter)

cvs -q update -p Dtmf.inc (in directory C:\projects\Trixie\DTMF\teaklite\inc\)

cvs [update aborted]: connect to 10.0.0.240:2401 failed: Connection refused

*****CVS exited normally with code 1*****

cvs -q login

(Logging in to address@hidden)

cvs [login aborted]: connect to 10.0.0.240:2401 failed: Connection refused

*****CVS exited normally with code 1*****

As I said, I can connect just fine from my other computer, which is a laptop. What could be different about my client configuration that prevents me from connecting? Is there anything that matters?

thanks for the help,

Neal
