I am seeing what appears to be an inconsistent behavior between using CVS
over a network connection and using it localally.

When I do a "cvs checkout -d . module" on a repository I experience no

However, when I do the same command on a remote repository I get the
following error:

% cvs -d:ext:address@hidden:/ahome/cvs/test checkout -d . temp
cvs server: existing repository /ahome/cvs/test does not match
cvs server: ignoring module temp

I have tried it using both CVS v1.11 and 1.10.8 and see the same problem
on either one. If I do not use the "-d ." option it works fine - however,
i need the "-d ." option to work.

I am have CVS_RSH=ssh (OpenSSH v2.5) and CVSROOT pointing to a server that
otherwise appears to be working fine.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance....
