Multiple repositories

We currently use CVS successfully on a number of projects at my
company. I wouldn't consider myself a newbie, but nowhere near an
expert.

I have spent a few nights looking for the answer to this question, but
have come up empty-handed.

What we'd like to accomplish is to have a central cvs server that
maintains all of the latest code. We'd then like to have a child cvs
server that feeds off the central server, and allows local developers to

work off it. In fact, right now, we don't even need the child to be
able to put back to the central server, even though that would be a
plus.

Right now, everyone is forced to tunnel into the central server directly

and do checkouts/checkins directly. It would be nice to be able to have

a nightly update that brings the child up to speed and then the
developers could work locally off of that one.

Thanks in advance for any help with this.
