It's been nearly ten years since I've used Matlab but doesn't a
semicolon at the end of a command suppress its output? For example:
function [c] = removei (b, i)
n=b(:,(i+1):size(b)(2));
m=b(:,(1:(i-1)));
c=[m,n];
endfunction
