John:

1) The traffic pattern is something close to a sine wave: it peaks on Tuesday every week and dips to its lowest point on Saturday. Usage also coincides pretty closely with the school year.
2) Here is a histogram showing the length of a session (number of commands entered at the REPL).  It's a very nice decay. http://v.gd/1sae1L
3) I don't keep logs for run times and memory usage.  That would be interesting to add though.
4) It's hard to say precisely how many "unique users" since a nontrivial fraction of the traffic are things like bots and spiders. One figure is that there are 15,765 registered users (which requires email verification).

This is great - thanks!

I want to throw a few ideas out there:
1. How about a timeline of sessions per day, per day of week, per time of
day, etc...?
2. Can you query for the size of the code?  Lines of code?
3. What about run times and/or memory usage?
4. Number of unique users?  Sessions per unique user?

Again, this is great - if you have the data set, it might even be
interesting to throw it up on popily.com and let folks explore.

Subject: Aggregated Stats from Octave Online

Hello,

I've compiled some aggregated usage statistics from over 100,000 Octave
sessions hosted on octave-online.net, including the most commonly used
functions and most commonly undefined variable or function names.  Thought
they might be interesting.

I can run more jobs to compute different statistics as well.  Let me know if
there's anything you'd be curious to see.  :)
