Yes, I know that Stallman's opinion on this matter is different from
Torvalds'.

No, what I am saying is that the Linux developers say that "derivation"
as far as they are concerned means not linking with the kernel.  So
there is no violation to start with.  But I would be happy if someone
pointed me to an authoritative source about this.
