Is there a way to coax you to show us the error message?
3.6.3 had a somewhat serious bug about sparse matrices. If you found a
problem compiling with 3.6.3 other than that, something else could be
seriously wrong, because the 3.6.x is all supposed to be
ABI-compatible.
