Thank you so much for your help!

I could not find octave UPM download online, just some discussions how it fails.  Any suggestions.
I also tried octave 3.6.2 gui.exe file inside gnu octave but it seems to work horribly.
Sorry, but any advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you so much!   I have found gnu octave 3.6.2 and it installed fine.
One more question though.     On top of gnu octave 3.6.2, I need to install GUI Octave 1.6, right?
However, http://guioctave.com/    is now some company unrelated to Math.
Where can I get GUI Octave which would work with gnu octave 3.6.2????

GUI Octave is an independent project developed outside and not endorsed by the GNU Octave project. There has been no interaction between the GUI Octave developer and the octave community, so basically nobody can answer your question.

I suggest you give octave UPM a try.

Michael.

Israel (the creator of the octave UPM package) is on the octave mailing list. Hopefully he'll be able to help you. I've put him in Cc of this mail.

Michael.
