You could try this one from Stanford University
http://www.stanford.edu/group/SOL/software/lsqr/matlab/lsqrSOL.zip

it is free software dual licensed under
OSI Common Public License (CPL)
   http://www.opensource.org/licenses/cpl1.0.php
or the BSD License
   http://www.opensource.org/licenses/bsd-license.php

I do not know if it runs out of the box or need adjustments, it looks
promising from a first look at the help text.
