Hi,
I have recently been able to configure octave (with very little warnings at the end) and then I compiled it using "make" and once it got done it had the following errors and I was wondering what they were and what they meant and what I should do or shouldn't do to NOT have any problems in the future working with my octave:
sh: makeinfo: not found
error: makeinfo failed with exit status 127!
error: called from:
error: /home/yashar/Downloads/octave-3.4.3/doc/interpreter/mk_doc_cache.m at line 68, column 3
make[3]: *** [doc-cache] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory `/home/yashar/Downloads/octave-3.4.3/doc/interpreter'
make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/yashar/Downloads/octave-3.4.3/doc'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/yashar/Downloads/octave-3.4.3'
make: *** [all] Error 2
However if I type in "./run-octave" it works, but I obviously haven't checked all the features.
The compilation took about 2hrs or 1:30hrs, if there is only ONE or FEW things that I should fix/download/install etc. to get rid of this can I avoid recompiling the whole thing or is that a no go?
I'd appreciate your help very much,
Yashar
