Hello

The warning that you described is appeared after octave-forge package also in 
my case. Those message perhaps comes from package loading system of octave 
being not complete. At this moment please ignore the message.

For octave-forge package install check, please type 

pkg list

from octave command prompt.
You can check how octave-forge package is installed.
