Sorry to butt in, but I have seen Matlab code that implements the
algorithm described in
Manuel Guizar-Sicairos, Samuel T. Thurman, and James R. Fienup,
"Efficient subpixel image registration algorithms," Opt. Lett. 33,
156-158 (2008).
The code was available for download, but I no longer have a reference to
the URL. A search for the paper may lead you to it.
