Try this. At the bottom there is the unsubscribe action.
ee sentence starting with "To unsubscribe from Help-octave [...]"

Don't think google is running this list. But I don't know for sure.
Usually list administrators are busy people (because they tend to write
apps such as octave) - So you should not bother them with unsubscribtion
tasks unless you have trouble unsubscribing using the normal way.
If you have - post again with a short description what you've tried so
that people know that you tried it.
