Hi again,

I have found a clue to the problem and a work around.

Do NOT install the Octave-Forge packages at the same time as the Octave
core.

If you do not check the box for installing the packages during the
Octave-Forge installation it works.
So, somewhere in the packages there is a bug that stops GNUplot from working
correctly.

I have installed the gnuplot package after the main installation and it seam
to work.
So it must be some of the others.
