I haven't looked at your code, but for the documentation, did you try the
appendix of the manual called "Dynamically linked fucntions" in the
sub-section "Standalone Programs".. Just type "doc" at the Octave command
line should give you access to the manual if your distribution of Octave
didn't come with a PDF version of the manual
