In Gnuplot installed on GNU/Linux, mouse zooming is done with the
right button, not the central ...

On my SuSE 11.2 (gnome) with octave 3.2.4 as well as on the current windows-version zooming works by pressing (but not turning) the mouse-wheel.
The right button does not do anything. (By "central button" I meant "mouse-wheel". Not exact description from my side :-)

In both cases it is a 2-button wheel-mouse. Something seems to be different here since your right button zooms and mine does not. Weird :-/
