That would be unlikely at this point since Cleve Moler is "chairman and chief scientist" at The Mathworks:

Perhaps his greatest contribution is matlab syntax itself and the initial free, open-source FORTRAN software (MATLAB and portions of the EISPACK and LINPACK numerical libraries).
