Hi, I don't want to change my EDITOR environment variable, to select the editor I want to use for octave. If I put EDITOR="gedit" in ~/.octaverc I get the following error warning: EDITOR is no longer a built-in variable; please read the NEWS file or type `news' for detailsIs there another way (except the environment variable) in octave 3.0 to do thisThanks Jaap
Take a look at "help edit". I've placed export EDITOR=mate In my ~/.bashrc file Ben
