won't load octave-forge path

hi,

I'm having trouble with Octave and Octave Forge packages
under Debian (unstable). The Octave path does not include
the Octave Forge tree. I'd like to know whether other Debian
users are experiencing the same thing or whether my  local
configuration has a problem.

I have the following packages installed :

octave2.9   ver 1:2.9.12-2+b3
octave2.9-forge ver 2006.07.09+dfsg1-8

my arch is i386
