Display/Printing long matrices?

Hello there,
Does octave stop computation while displaying long matrices?


If it does stop, is there some way to actually show a long matrix
and simultaneously keep on computing? What I mean here, is
how can I have the log messages keep accumulating on a terminal,
as well as keep computation going on; whenever I am at the terminal,
I can thumb through the list.

Please help.
