There may be better ways, but
eval( sprintf("gset output %s",name) )
should work

Subject: how to use gset output
Dear ladies and gentlemen!
I want to plot a picture like this:
plot (t, k(t,55), kk(t,55))
gset term postscript
gset output "picturexy.ps"
replot
But instead of giving directly the filename "picturexy.ps"
I want to use a variable for the file-name like this
plot (t, k(t,55), kk(t,55))
gset term postscript
name = "picturexy.ps"
gset output name
replot
But it doesen't work this way.
How can I solve this problem. Can anybody help me?
Thank you very much
Claudia Paladini
