image/data acquisition toolbox

Hi all,

does anybody know if there already is an equivalent of the Matlab
image or data acquisition toolbox in octave forge?

I saw a message in the mailing list archive about that topic posted
nearly one year ago, but apparently nobody answered...do you
have some news about that topic?
