Hello. Use the old Fortran style double-star for exponentiation in
gnuplot:
gnuplot> f(x) = (1-h/((x-th)**2+1))
gnuplot> h= 0.1
gnuplot> th = 9
gnuplot> plot f(x)
gnuplot>
