If you find things that are incompatible, please report them.  Perhaps
there is a bug in Octave that should be fixed, or we might be able to
show you another way to do the job that doesn't require two sections
of code.

It might be better to check for a variable like OCTAVE_VERSION.  I
think that is unlikely to be defined in Matlab, but we might define a
function called license that displays the GPL.
