I am attempting to install octave-forge on a Intel P4 running Fedora 
Core 2.  I wase able to install Octave 2.9.3 with out any problems.  
When I installed Fedor Core 2, I selected to install 
everything...probably not necessary, but did not want to worry about 
having to install addition items down the road.
