FWIW: I'm also having a umfpack issue under FreeBSD. Apparently (I have
no Linux system to test with), umfpack installs it's prototypes by
default in umfpack/umfpack.h which conflicts with FreeBSD's hier(7).
Can anyone give me some hints on how to patch configure.in to also check
for umfpack.h in a first level include directory?
