TeXmacs (http://www.texmacs.org) imports fig graphics without problems and 
renders the equations. You just must remember to mark the equations using the 
'special flag' in the text flags.

Notice that altough TeXmacs sounds like TeX + emacs, it is not. But it's 
connected to them.
