'anything' was intended as a dummy word standing for any of the
commands, in the context of this post.

Here's what I get:

>> help -i plot
info: /opt/octave/info/octave.info: No such file or directory
help: sorry, `plot' is not indexed in the manual

And what's more, there is indeed no info directory nor octave.info file.
 It appears the sourceforge windows installer did not create the .info
file, not its directory.

This explains the problem, and it means that the normal octave help
system is inoperative.
