zp2sys made system error

Hi,
    I use
D = zp2sys([],[1],1);                  (OR, say D = zp2sys([1 2 3],[4 5
6],1);

Then on step(D) or impulse(D) or sysout(D,"ss") I get error
"number of columns must match (2 != 1)....


Is this a bug, OR am i doing something wrong? How do i solve this problem?
