Actually, this gives me a silly suggestiong to JWE's point about
Matlab's 1^Inf=NaN problem. Two silly solutions:
* We'll send a bug report with a patch to The MathWorks, Inc., :-)
* Obviously, we'll define '1' to be 'NaN'. ;-}
