Hi,
I'm using Mandrake 9.0 and I have two issues with nano that someone could
perhaps help me with. Firstly, I have been using nano-1.0.9-1.i386.rpm for
months now and there seems to be a problem with moving backwards through a
line, either with the cursor or with backspace. The cursor doesn't always
move the same number of spaces as there were keystrokes and the appearance of
the line on the console becomes mangled. Internally it's fine but it does
require rather a lot of Ctrl-L'ing :)
Secondly, to fix this, I tried upgrading to 1.2.1 but I get the following
error,
# rpm -U --test nano-1.2.1-1.i386.rpm
error: failed dependencies:
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.3) is needed by nano-1.2.1-1
AFAIK there are no Mandrake RPMs for GLIBC_2.3. I think I have the most recent
one - glibc-2.2.5-16.2mdk. If I use --nodeps then nano gives a similar error
when invoked at the command line. Is there anything I can do apart from
compile glibc from source?
Thanks.
Paul.
