Subject: [Help-mcsim] Need for help about the installation of GNU MCSIM on a Windows OS Computer

Dear all,

I am Dr. Moustapha Sy postdoc at the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment. I am working on the assessment of human exposure to chemicals present in the environment and in consumer products.
Thus, I would like to install GNU MCSim (version 5.6.6) to be able to combine environmental modeling and models developed to estimate human intake.

I have downloaded, unzipped and tried to install the last version of GNU MCSim following every step described in the User Manual. Unfortunately when it comes to general the executable file mod.exe I have gotten the following error messages :

C:\Users\sym\mcsim-5.6.6\mod>gcc –I.. mod.c –o mod

C: \Users\sym\AppData\Local\Temp\ccLKmjj5.o:mod.c:<.text+0x83>: undefined reference to `ReportError`

C: \Users\sym\AppData\Local\Temp\ccLKmjj5.o:mod.c:<.text+0xcb>: undefined reference to `ReportError`

C: \Users\sym\AppData\Local\Temp\ccLKmjj5.o:mod.c:<.text+0x207>: undefined reference to `ReportError`

C: \Users\sym\AppData\Local\Temp\ccLKmjj5.o:mod.c:<.text+0x26c>: undefined reference to `ReportError`

C: \Users\sym\AppData\Local\Temp\ccLKmjj5.o:mod.c:<.text+0x323>: undefined reference to `_getopt`

C: \Users\sym\AppData\Local\Temp\ccLKmjj5.o:mod.c:<.text+0x470>: undefined reference to `MyStrcmp`

C: \Users\sym\AppData\Local\Temp\ccLKmjj5.o:mod.c:<.text+0x622>: undefined reference to `ReadModel`

C: \Users\sym\AppData\Local\Temp\ccLKmjj5.o:mod.c:<.text+0x63f>: undefined reference to `Write_R_Model`

C: \Users\sym\AppData\Local\Temp\ccLKmjj5.o:mod.c:<.text+0x655>: undefined reference to `WriteModel`

collect2.exe: error: ld returned 1 exit status

C:\Users\sym\mcsim-5.6.6\mod>

I have tried, without any success, to open the mod.c files and the other involved C and header files to figure out what´s going on.

Moreover, I could not identify any problem regarding the inclusion of the pointed functions.

I use gcc compiler which is working fine as tested on a simple "Hello world !" example.

Please could you provide me any element of response ?

Thank you, in advance, for your support.

Best regards,
Dr. Moustapha Sy
