compiling on Ubuntu 12.04 using gcc 4.8 with 

CC=gcc-4.8 CFLAGS="-Wpedantic -Wextra -Wall" ./configure

I get a lot of warnings.  Most of them might be harmless.  Others may
hint to actual errors. For example (plus -Werror)

memcpy.c: In function ‘memcpy’:
memcpy.c:13:19: error: argument ‘len’ doesn’t match built-in prototype
[-Werror] unsigned int len;
                   ^
cc1: all warnings being treated as errors

Do you think it is (still) a good idea to provide an own memcpy
function coded in K&R C?

»make check« does not detect any errors.
