Hello Richard,
 If you propose some additions to the documentation for that I'd be
happy to include and/or enhance them. The certificate
generation/handling in general was a bit neglected from the
documentation because it was considered an advanced use (there are
many domain-specific profiles). However, it may warrant an additional
section or so.
