Gnus Save Attachments with ido-mode

I don't understand how I'm able to save attachments when I have ido-mode
enabled. 

In gnus, I use "o" to open save.

If I just press enter here, it saves the attachment with the recommended
name, but if I enter f.ex ~/tmp/ and I press enter nothing happens.

Save MIME part to (default 018.jpg): ~/tmp/{./ | ../}

..no matter how many times I press RET.

If I enter a name, I'm allowed to save it. 

Any pointers as to what I can try?
