it depends on what snippets you are talking about. What's the exact
package name?

are you talking about autocomplete mode or yasnippet? I think you are
takling about yasnippet, but exactly how did you disable it? offhand
i'm not aware if you can disable it just for particular mode, except
you remove that mode's snippet dir.
