Gnus/5.13 (Gnus v5.13) Emacs/23.2 (gnu/linux) |
since emacs 23, gnus is playing tricks with my saved emails; some of
the old babyl formatted "saving files" take new stuff, and some do
not;
A. is there any way to "create"
1. a new "mem/<rmail file>" for "saving" emails which will use the
now deprecated babyl format?
from my gnus.el:
(setq gnus-article-save-directory "/home/hodgson/mem/")
2. a new gnus "split-methods" list entry whose emails will
"accommodate" (if that's the issue) the old format?
here's my gnus.el:
(setq nnmail-split-methods
(list
(list "mail.emacs" "^(To|Cc):.*help-gnu-emacs@gnu\\.org")
B. where can i read up on the transition away form babyl;
C. the idea of a file (babyl format) which acts like a directory,
always seemed to be a fine accessory; is there an alternative?
should i just give up and "convert" away from it?
