peculiar edebug problem

There is this midi.el file here: http://delysid.org/emacs/midi.el
that was mentioned on the linux audio list

I tried to read a midi file with it and got an error.
So I turned on edebug-all-defs and loaded that el and edebug crashed!!

This is the message:
