There's currently no single binding for that, but you can combine two
to achieve that effect: M-; M-Return
(follow file in passive pane + visit selected file/directory in
passive pane)

I use Markus Triska's openwith.el (http://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/
OpenWith) and highly recommend it.
