for temporary data, see `Electric-command-loop' and its
primary client, `electric-buffer-list'. (there are many
other buffer-selection libraries to browse as well.)
for persistent data, see "Summary" support in EDB. aside
from the examples/ subdir, skram/ may also be interesting.
