I like to turn off the C-z, C-x, C-c, C-v bindings in CUA mode:
(setq cua-enable-cua-keys nil)
Not sure if this only works in the cua-mode that's part of the CVS
Emacs or also in other versions. Maybe the feature is there but the
variable name is slightly different.
