I get

  character: (07100, 3648, 0xe40)
    charset: cyrillic-iso8859-5
         (Right-Hand Part of Latin/Cyrillic Alphabet (ISO/IEC 8859-5):
ISO-IR-144)
 code point: 64
     syntax: word
   category: y:Cyrillic
buffer code: 0x8C 0xC0
file code: ESC 2C 4C 40 (encoded by coding system iso-2022-7bit-unix)
       font: -Cronyx-Fixed-Medium-R-Normal--15-140-75-75-C-90-RAWIN-R

The character shown is CYRILLIC CAPITAL A. Since it the first character of

Russian (???????), I expect tha the intent is to show CYRILLIC CAPITAL R.

                                                        R u s s k i y

Do not know how Emacs choose this font and why...

Ilya
