Auto-save interval

Dear listmembers,
I recently tried to set the auto-save-interval to some very low value - i. e.
"3". But emacs did not accept such a setting. I do not know the real letter
count, but it must be something between 10 and 20 input characters at min
before emacs would do an auto save. Does anybody know about that? Is there a
way to get this lower than that?

if you really want to see the pictures above - use some font
with constant spacing like courier! :-)
