I recently moved my emacs files to a new machine and I can't get the new
configuration to read my .emacs file. If I do a
(insert(getenv "HOME")) the result is /home/administrator, which is
correct. However if I try to open a my .emacs file using C-x C-f ~/.emacs,
it opens the current directory instead of the HOME directory.
