In the current version 3.113.1 of GNATS, some enumerated field values are 
configurable, such as the values for the "state" field, but the 
posibilities are very limited. Adding fields is a difficult exercise.

However, in the fairly-soon-to-be-released version 4 of GNATS, absolutely 
everything is fully configurable. Have a look at the preliminary version of 
the GNATS 4 manual at http://sources.redhat.com/gnats/4_0_manual/, 
especially section 4.3, The dbconfig file, and you should get an idea of 
how configurable this thing really is.

GNATS 4 is currently only available from CVS, details can be found under 
"Availability" at http://sources.redhat.com/gnats/, a late alpha or beta 
tarball may be available fairly soon.
