Dear Luis,
Let me just clarify that, I’m in the department of the I. T. at this hospital institution. My perspective can be sometimes too pragmatic or simplistic. So, if anyone with more experience with lab work has something to say, his/her ideas would be most welcomed.
We can definitely work on this feature and add it to the upcoming version.
Would you please elaborate a bit more the rationale behind this functionality ? We will then create a task for the implementation.
Our friend Armand has extensive experience implementing GNU Health LIMS, so he can also help in this.
Now, as I said in the last email. I’ve been thinking about 2 ideas: - Automating the product stock moves on every laboratory tests.
- Making the stock moves manually in every test
Since last email, I’ve been pondering about having Lab personnel accessing the stock module, and making moves directly in there, and I don’t think it’s the best idea. For this reason, I think the 2nd solution could have security issues.
So, thinking about the 1st solution, which is the idea of automating the product stock move on every lab test, I thought about having in the window for Lab Tests Results (Health -> Laboratory -> Lab Tests Results), a new tab where the users can list all the material used for doing the lab tests. Thus, after writing the lab tests results, the user would write as well all the material used to do the lab test.
Thank you for everything,
Dear HumbertoThank you very much for your kind email ! It's great to know thatyou're happy with GNU Health and the LIMS functionality :)Let me answer inline :On Fri, 22 Mar 2019 18:58:19 +0100Humberto Freitas <address@hidden> wrote:Hello guys,
Firstly, let me just say that I’m amazed with the work you guys are doing. Thank you for all your work.
You're most welcome :) I could already install the software on a Debian 9 Stretch. It couldn’t be easier. Following the wiki instructions, I could install the system and it’s up and running.
Great ! It is amazing how seamlessly GH organizes all the information that a healthcare institution needs to make daily important decisions. So to give it a try, we started the installation of the GNU Health basic system with the GNU Health LIMS module, so we can manage our laboratory. Everything is working great.
So, now I want to manage the laboratory stock according to the requested lab tests.
After some talk with the Lab personnel, I find that I could manage the stock in one of two ways: Automating the stock moves, from the lab location to some virtual location (like Lab Tests), according to the requested lab tests. So when the result of a lab test is done the move occurs; Or I could let them make the moves themselves, with the internal shipments. So, every test they do, they should register the stock moves in the internal shipments.
After tinkering for some time, I could realise that the first solution has some problems with automating the process because the material used to make certain tests vary with patient physical characteristics, like patient age.
So now I’m thinking about the second solution. After some experimentation, it works. However, when adding an internal shipment I want to identify the origin of the moves with a lab test. Can you help me adding the list of lab tests in the list of items to add to the origin field?
