a clear 'in theory yes' :-)
get an actual GNU Health 2.8 installation, restore a backup of the database into it, and run th eupdate command:
/usr/bin/trytond -c /etc/tryton/trytond.conf --all -d mydb
(apply location ot trytond and trytond.conf)
 
If that does not work you may have to go back to version 2.0 and upgrade to this, next to 2.2 and so on

Going back to this post, I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade fron version 1.8 to the most uptodate and how to do it.
Please reply to all coz I have my brother assisting me on this. He is an IT guy.
