Hello Emilien,

thanks for your answer.
The storage in the database may be interesting at some point but in the persons or patients folder I've the option to download the record.
This record is in binary format, can be unpacked (by ace if I'm not wrong) and includes several binary files.
The content of these files I'd like to see and control somehow, therefore I'm asking.
Additionally these files are made for exchanging I suppose, so the format and usage of them should be clear.

About different formats, my interest is in general. HL7 exists now in 3 versions if I don't mistake but I suppose there still exist other formats too.
Need for some format is given by doctors / hospitals that request some records in another format, so it depends on the requests.

These details worth it in my opinion to be cleared in the description of GNU Health too as it may be a reason for or against the System.

The documentation on http://en.m.wikibooks.org/wiki/GNU_Health or http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/GNU_Health I know already but as for example my point above is not mentioned at all I think there is still much space for clarification.
I think the existing parts are already good but there are still some important points open / not mentioned. Beside technical details chapter for extension-developers could be added.
The cookbook on http://savannah.gnu.org/cookbook/?group=health is not clear at all for me, everything shown below is not related to gnu health.
Additionally the page http://www.iweee.org/2013-las_palmas/presentations.html could be mentioned, I found it only in a mailing-list.

Best Regards,
David

The data is stored in a PostgreSQL database, in models that are built specifically for GNU Health.

What specific other formats are you interested in?
I'm not sure which conversion/migration options exists, maybe others in the community could expand on this topic?

Have you had a look at
http://en.m.wikibooks.org/wiki/GNU_Health
? It's linked to from the project's main page ( http://health.gnu.org )
