I have some unfinished work on this. There is discussion in the
guix-devel archives. For some reason, GNOME became glacially slow for me
after it had been working for a while, so it was too hard to test the
gnome-maps package. I need to investigate this issue, but anyone should
feel free to move forward with this package.

Unfortunately, it's been long enough that I've forgotten the state of
